BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mohammed Al-Barki is a Ph.D. holder in information systems, a senior fellow of higher education, a researcher with significant responsibilities, and a programme director of Business Management with Innovation and Technology with over a decade of academic experience, having worked at the University of Manchester, the University of Bolton, and currently at the University of Salford.

Dr. Al-Bakri's research in information systems is guided by a desire to advance knowledge, as recognised by the Research Excellence Framework (REF). He investigates the sociotechnical aspects of technology and has expanded into several IS-related fields, including digital transformation disciplines such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science, cloud computing, big data analytics and critical systems thinking, among others, all of which are demonstrated in his extensive research portfolio. Dr. Al-Barki also emphasises methodological rigour and innovation, as evidenced by his authored textbooks on research design in the IS-related field and upcoming interdisciplinary projects such as "Innovation Strategy for the Future of Teaching and Learning." Dr. Al-Barki also brings extensive industry experience as a consultant, where he collaborates closely with a variety of stakeholders, including local authorities, government agencies, and local communities to implement new technologies to strengthen community infrastructures and reduce the digital divide.

Dr. Al-Barki also collaborates on programme development and has secured significant research funding, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the research agenda and fostering innovation in academia. Dr. Al-Barki has also been invited to numerous conferences in the UK and abroad, most recently speaking at a vision, which is in line with their future digital 2040 conference in Oman about the country's transformation and higher education goals. His dedication to research and academic leadership roles, as well as his commitment to fostering innovation, have earned him respect in academia.
